Can anyone tell me where the index.dat is to be found in regedit? If at all? I once read that it was possible to disable the index.dat but I dont know where to find it? Thanks

You can reveal what is stored in these files using the free SPIDER program from www.fsm.nl/ward/ And you can delete this stored information using the also free program DELINDEX from www.burzurq.com/forum/delindex.html Check to see if the latter is compatible with your OS. As for your question about the registry.... I dunno, sorry.
