It's just over a day since I installed Incredimail. Great software, looks superb!

However, I got 2 Zone Alarm alerts this evening (I'm running ZA Pro in component learning mode). The 1st was Windows Explorer and the 2nd was Zone Alarm itself. Both (supposedly) had change components which were trying to access the internet. In both cases the component was imshext.dll, which turned out to be an Incredimail shell extension component.

Why would this component be masquerading as another program, or am I being paranoid?

I have been using Incredimail for quite some time. I have never had it attempt to change components, or attmept to 'dial' out.

I have used ad-aware and spybot search and destroy on my system and have never uncovered any spy or mal-ware associated with that program.

However, I have been testing the Mozilla web browser and using it's built in mail client and I am really liking it.

I use Incredimail occasionally cuz itz tempermental (crash/burn etc.) Saw a strange item on Chimneygod's latest newsletter to the effect that Incredimail traces all email you send. True? Dunno. But that's what brought me here. Apparently some folks are experiencing strangeness. Outta here. Must pursue evil.
