can anyone please tell me why my norton and any other antivirus programs are not 100% complete when scanning? i have tried every antivirus programs but they all shut down in the middle of scanning, is there hidden virus somewhere in my computer that does this? i do disable all others and only run one at a time, also a blue screen with some error message will appear after it fails to scan. thank you for all of your help =oD

The W32.Klez virus can shut down almost all of the the virus scan programs before they detect it, if you have a bad infection.

Do a search for WINK. If you find any WINK???.exe files where ??? is any three random letters, then you are infected with Klez.

If you find any, try deleting them. Actually, you will have to boot from a bootable Windows Diskette to delete them.

Restart Windows in SAFE MODE and try running a virus scan.

Download the FIXKLEZ.exe file from Norton's web site and follow the instructions for running it.
