Lately I've been getting a ''iexplore.exe - application error'' window. It says:
''The instruction at ''0z00d338ae'' referenced memory at ''0x00e2cde8''. The memory could not be ''read''. click on ok to terminate program''
A while back I had a trojan that I successfully removed using smitrem and other techniques with the help from people in this site. And this thing suddenly started appearing. The message appears rarely, like once a week. I don't believe I have a virus. Since nothing is being picked up on the scans. It actually started appearing after I downloaded spywareblaster, and turned it on. Which I have set to protect me from everything(I originally had my internet explorer highjacked when I came for advice) So do any of you guys know what it could be? I'd really appreciate the help. I'm very lost here.

I also forgot to add that after I click ok to terminate program I get a mini window that says ''Runtime error 216 at 00D338AE''.

If you think that spywareblaster is the problem then uninstall it and run for a day or two and see if the error subside, maybe it has a corrupt file.
To unintsall it go to start> control panel> add/remove program> scroll down to "spyware blaster" and click on it > click remove> restart the computer when the uninstall is finished.
The event viewer may help you find the program/application causing the problem. Instructions on using the event viewer at this link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427
If you still have a problem you can download and run microsofts free memory test from this link http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

I have been receiving iexplore-application errors messages followed by a runtime error 216 at 011638AE message. Thinking it might be a subseven virus, I spent 8 hours running every test suggested by Geeks-to-go without success. I also checked the registry for a subseven virus without success, although the runservice subkey was missing; I have yet to find out if that is relevant. I also tried using restore but restore don't work. All suggestions appreciated. Joan
