Since last week, my iexplore once in awhile will freeze for just a short couple seconds. Cursor will turn into hour glass. Whenever my cursor is in a text box, it will auto typing words. It's almost like my computer is being taken over. It's not doing anything more than words being generated -- like "If she is the a day @AOL tax 1099 price walking alone" just random words. It will keep generating/typing words, chunk of sentenses. I have norton running and it's not picking up anything. It's hard to detect what's going on because whenever I reboot, it will go away until whenever it struck again. I am running winxp/iexplore 6

Do you have a microphone plugged into your system? Unplug it and see if that resolves your problem.

XP normally installs the Language Tool Bar (upper right hand corner of screen). I read today(http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99992040) where having this on, with a microphone, can cause the problem you're having.

I am having the same problem - auto typed words. It happens in other programs as well. If I open a text box and wait even for a shor time radom words begin to auto type in the box.

I was having the same problem. I was real frustrated tonight and I was going to fix this if it was the death of me. I found the below article and started laughing.

http://www.lockergnome.com/issues/daily/20020114.html

Because I did look behind me and listened to the TV playing and it always seem to happen when I had somthing going on in the background. Background noise and all. It did start happening only after I installed XP and it wasn't every time. When it was quiet and I was alone with no noise problem never happened.

Tonight I turned off voice recognition on XP and waited for a while with noise in the background. I'm happy to say that the problem has stopped.

This has been a pain in my ass for over 5 months. It was very random. I was so afraid I had a virus or Trojan horse.

I guess I did after all it was called the New MS Windows XP Enhancement Virus. Just another undocumented feature!!!!! :)

Hope this helps
