My IE 6.0 has become very sluggish and links not responding or locks up (mostly on CNN). I am on DSL and nothing there has changed. I've ran Spybot and Adaware. Help! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you tried running CCleaner or ATF cleaner?
i have noticed that internet explorer lags alot once it gets a few files in the temp folder. once thats deleted it generally resumes a normal pace again. CCleaner is an excellent program to cleanup temp files for internet and your computer. i would also have ccleaner scan the registry and fix errors there.

another option, try Mozilla Firefox. if Mozilla runs fine then i wouldnt worry about a virus too much.

unless there's a specific compatibility reason for keeping IE6, you should download IE7 and its updates. regardless of whether it is a "better" product with regard to speed and an intuitive and aesthetic interface, it is much more secure than IE6.

Just like keeping antivirus definitions updated is important, so too is keeping your OS patched. this includes internet explorer.
