And usually when you're infected with a redirect virus (which hijacks your DNS settings), it changes IE/whatever web browsers you have to use a proxy to redirect you to malicious sites. In the future, I would look into using OpenDNS (it's free): http://www.opendns.com/ , if you don't want to sign up for an account, you can just use their servers manually by changing your your TCP/IP settings: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...|
For "Preferred DNS Server" type in 188.8.131.52 and for "Alternate DNS Server" type in 184.108.40.206.
OpenDNS won't prevent you from getting the Google Redirect Virus (at least to my knowledge), but it will provide you with safer, and faster browsing as opposed to your original ISP.
