Comment:
My IE pages keep opening unnecessarily. This happens even on Windows startup. When I close them they keep popping up going to sites such as limeware, free emoticons, etc. Please help me resolve this.

I had a problem a while ago that may be like yours . How may IE windows open? Is it just a few, or do you get a large number of windows every time(I usually had about 50-60 IE windows come up). Either way, if you have another Internet browser then you could try goind into "Program Access and Defaults" and restricting access to IE. This isn't a perfect fix, but it helps until you can find a more permanent one.

Are you sure you don't have a browser hijacker? Run a spyware scan with a good tool like Spybot Search & Destroy IN SAFE MODE. Or download and use the hijackthis tool.
