I quarantined the VBS. StartPage virus with Norton's. I don't know what to do with it now though. Also my IE homepage is something different now. It is something that I don't thing I was in. I guess it may be some kind of spyware. I don't know how to get my IE homepage back to what it should be. I have run spybot and ad-ware but don't know how to recognize if any of the problems found relate to my IE homepage. Everytime I go to the IE the pop up from Nortons come up showing me that I have a trojan virus. Well, I have that virus quarantined, but I don't know how to get it totally off my PC and whether deleting it from the quarantine place with affect anything else on my PC?
Hope some can help this techie novice? Thanks.

If your computer is happy to boot while the trojen is quartined then you can delete the virus. There are instructions under the help files for norton on how to do this. To change IE homepage simple meft click the tools menu click option and then type the webpage you wish it to go to when you first open IE

Thanks robyn.

I went to Norton first to get instructions about how to delete the virus. Problem was that the buttons on my screens didn't match the buttons the instructions were telling me to click on! I know I was looking at the instructions for the appropriate operating system.

Another thing, I know this may seem really dumb, but I don't know the webpage address that was for the IE. Is there a standard webpage address that automatically shows up when you click on the internet explorer icon from the desktop?

Thanks I really do appreciate all the assistance from you all. I hope you don't get tired of me asking such basic questions that I'm sure are very mondane for you experts. Thanks again for the patience.

Forgot to ask robyn --

If I delete the virus from quarantine will that set my IE homepage back to what it was originally?

If I delete a virus from quarantine will it alert me if the deletion will affect me running any of my programs or do I have to determine that some other way. And if so, how do I make that determination?

Thanks!
