I am responsible for making sure that employees do not go on websites they are not supposed to at my work place. Just curious if anyone knows how to recover IE history once someone has cleared it?(with 98/2000/xp)I have tried programs like track4win, which monitors traffic really well but does not help me unless it is installed.

the easiest way on a nw is by using the router log or a webfilter if you have one like websense. If they are not supposed to surf, why not just block access?

I agree with mike. I have installed WebSense Enterprise on one of my client's network. While it certainly has greatly diminished Internet misuses by employees, the biggest drawback I noticed afterward is the employees' morale. After all, they are being paid to do work, aren't they?

Thanks for your idea's.
Employees are allowed to surf work related sites only. One of the other issues is that the computers I have to look after are all over western Canada so when I log into them (with pca) and notice the IE history is cleared, it's usually cleared to cover thier tracks. I will look into websense.
Another guy in the IT department said that some history is also stored in the registry so I could try looking there.
