Comment: The Dell Dimension I'm working on appears to be severely contaminated with a virus, and then some. It does not allow many windows to remain open ie; in clicking Ctrl Alt Del the window only remains open for a fraction of a second, this occurrs with many other windows. If additional malfunctions are required please advise. I attempted to post a HJT log and was advised to wait for a request. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Reply: (edit)I have run programs such as Spybot, AdAware and CW Scredder without any success. The PC still has pop ups continually, certain windows will not stay open etc. Please advise of another virus scan that may ID what my problem is with this PC.

Reply: (edit)DS: I have cleared out all Temp/Temp Internet files and shot off "System Restore". I cannot see what's in Task Manager, that is one of the programs that appears for an instant and disappears, along with "Regedit". It also will not allow AVG to install. Any thoughts on those problems. I wanted to post a HJT Log but a window warning appeared before I could confirm the post stating that if not asked for it could be deleted from the post.
