Subject: Icons that wont deleteOS: Windows XP Pro Version 20CPU/Ram: 256 |
Comment: I have seven Icons on my desktop, with names like "travel" "Casino Online" "Printer Cartridges" "Poker" etc. They will not delete. If I right click on them it does nothing by highlight the icon, no menu apears. They dont show up as icons like IE and My Copmuter do in desktop options. MoveOnBoot does nothing cuz i dint know where the files are saves, MSCONFIG doesnt work cuz I run on XP. I've tryed everything and I'm at a loss. Plz help me.

Reply: (edit)OverOpiated, I run on WinXP and recently had the exact same problem as you. Same Icons and same strange task manager torjan named iexplorer.exe. Don't try anything unless you try this first because I went through this first hand and I'm not just guessing upon my knowledge. First click start and open the computers search engine and check all files and folders. Make sure it will search hidden files as well. Sperately search for these three words: "intrap" you are looking for intrap~1.exe "army" you are looking for armyse~1.exe and "Heck Meta" delete anything that contains this information. You should also go into your computers C drive/ documents and settings/ all users "if more than one" and then into application data "Application data might be hidden so you might want to click tools at the top and make sure you can see hidden files" In application data delete ARMYSettings and anything relating to it or thoes three words I mentioned above. You must preform the search and delete these files in order to fully get rid of this problem.
