Comment: Hey guys!! I have a serious problem. Everytime I open Internet Explorer a "website" pops up showing my personal information. I mean REAL personal information, my name, the state and country I live in, my XP product identification number, it ejects my CD drives. everytime I try to change IE's main home page it just automatically changes this webpage to the weird website. I need help. Please. I ran ad-aware, spybot, and mcafee antivirus updated. I can post my Hijack this login too

Reply: (edit)and i would get a free firewall such as sygate. when you open, outlook express etc. it will ask if you want to allow it, put a check in the box for known apps, when an unknown app appears just click no, and don't put a checkmark in the box to always block, unless you're certain you want it blocked. although it's easy to change the settings once you get used to it.

Reply: (edit)That is not really personal information. That is just information that a program can get from the Registry and other places. The user name is normally your name. Every Web site you access gets your Country code and system ID. If you filled out an Instant Messenger profile, with first and last name, state, zip code then a program can get it. Most likely a joke program or browser hijack to a web site.

Reply: (edit)it ejects your CD drives??? that's nifty. not sure i've seen that behavoir before. does it kick your pets, eat your food, and use your toothbrush too? I'm not making light of your situation, sorry if it sounds like that. that's definately an odd side-effect. i'm not sure if its related to your hijack. if it is, someone was being a real smart *** when they designed it. now you've made me really curious...i want to know what's causing that.
