I have been downloading many files recently and I believe I have picked up a virus. I am currently running Norton Antivirus 2002 Pro Ed. To my dismay I found it wasnt on auto protect. I think there is a virus because I cant log onto the internet. (I am currently typing this message on my secondary comp.) The wires are all secure. The computer is on a network with the one I am on now. The one with the suspected virus is the main computer that receives the cable internet. I have run the virus scan but I have not been able to run LiveUpdate. I have heard that there are viruses that can avoid Norton. Your help in this situation is greatly appreciated.

Some virii can disable your AV program. Without access to the net you may not be able to do an online scan with another AV program..... unless you can download the AV file to a CDRW and install the file to the infected PC and run it from there.

Online scans can be run from....

If you download the file, when it is ready to run, you may be able to copy it from the TEMP INTERNET FILES FOLDER as I would expect it to be in there ?????
