My brother decided to use my computer to look at porn, unfortunately for me, I think he downloaded a codec file with a virus in it. My computer started changing all my display settings, won't let me restore, is going slow and I cannot connect to the internet. I've tried running Adaware and AVG and the scans don't show anything. Any idea how to get rid of this?

I tried the Malewarebytes and it cleaned up a lot but I must still have the virus because my display is still stuck on the windows classic and I am unable to connect with the internet or get updates. I'm actually doing all of this from another computer and then going home and working on my personal computer.
Any other idea's before I reconfigure my hard drive and have to reload windows?
