Hi am running Windows VISTA and i have some viruses bugging me

There are constantly popping messeges up that i have this viruses...

NetWorm-i.virus@fp

This is realy beginning to piss me off,

Pop up´s everywhere and this is slowing down my net, i am afraid this will ruin my computer :(

Please help me get rid of these stupid viruses ARGHH

Please download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:

Download the HijackThis Installer from this link: HijackThis

1. Save " HJTInstall.exe" to your desktop.
2. Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
5.Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
7. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
8. Paste the log in your next reply.
9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Bump

Hello Kisi, you have spyware on your computer called Smitfraud. It is difficult to remove from Vista as none of the exisiting removal tools that I know of will work with Vista. Manual removal may work but will take some time and effort. You may get some errors reported by Vista let me know if you do.

To begin manual removal please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Restart your computer

After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;

Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;

Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".

Choose your usual account.

Run Hijack This from safe mode, close all windows except Hijack This, place a check to the left of the following items and press "fix checked":

Next, navigate to and delete these files/folders:

Next, do a mauual search for these files/folders and delete them if found.

I doubt if it was removed that easily. Reboot the computer and let it start in normal mode then post a new Hijack This log once you do the following.

These two files:

Online Security Test.url

VirusProtectPro

are usually located in the following file/folder paths so check there and let me know what you find.

C:\Documents and Settings\your name\favorites\Online Security Test.url

C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Start Menu\Programs\VirusProtectPro

Next search for VirusProtectPro in add/remove programs, remove it if found by following the directions at this link Vista Add/remove programs

Once you post your results we will need to do a registry search.
