Solved I need to uninstall RebateInformer.

September 6, 2011 at 19:40:06
Specs: Windows XP
I uninstalled Firefox from my computer. Then I wanted to uninstall RebateInformer but it is not in the control panel/add remove programs page. So I went to the RebateInformer folder and the uninstall icon was not there. Is this because I uninstalled Firefox first and it uninstalled the RebateInformer too? Yet the folder is still there and the icon on my bottom toolbar. Can you help me to uninstall this RebateInformer? Tks, Joyce

✔ Best Answer
You will probably have to remove Rebate Informer manually.

- start your Windows Task Manager
- go to the processes tab
- find and select a RebateInf.exe process
- right mouse click and select "end process"
- click yes on warning dialog
- close your Windows Task Manager

Then
- open your File Manager (eg. Windows Explorer)
- go to the file location - C:\Program Files\RebateInformer
- and completely delete the RebateInformer folder with all it's content
- delete RebateInformer icon on your desktop
- restart your computer
