I Need Help with a Vista Restore

Hewlett-packard G60-445dx notebook

Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium
So I just got this computer from a guy I know who has completely and utterly riddled his machine with viruses. He tried to fix it and gave up, and so handed it off to me. Not one to turn down a notebook, I accepted.

Here's the problem, as soon as I put in his password to log on, the system locks me out, the whole thing just freezes.

So is there any way that I can just wipe this computer clean? Its a nice enough computer, and i'd love to salvage it if possible. BTW, I do not have his OS disc.

I do not need to save anything on it, just start from scratch.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

The best thing is to call HP (800-474-6836) and request a set of recovery cd's. Recovery cd's are a fraction of the cost of retail OS's.
