I need better E-mail than outlook

Comment:
I am looking for any input on a better E-mail program than Outlook Express. I realize that many viruses are mad to infect outlook, and I'm wondering if there is a better one.

Hi Derekg: I am using Eudora 5.2, and Calypso 3. These are both free and very good... IF you like Eudora and you use AVG,There is a plugin that you can use...I will never go back to OE, it has just too many holes in it..I also never use IE, It has the same problems...

Is that Eudora the one with all the ads?
I used to have Eudora a long time ago. Worked great but when they went to the ad driven stuff I ditched it.
Thanks

I use Eudora. If you don't want the ads, either get the light version or pay for it. Either way, it's way better than OE at avoiding virii:)

Like Jim, i use the hotmail compatible version of mailwasher and outlook 2000. I wash my mail first then use my mail client to download the good stuff.

Agent is a very good e-mail client, as well as a very good newsreader.
It's wonderfully text based, so I've had no problems with e-mail viri in all the years I've been using it. There's a free version you can try to see how you get on with it.

It has multi-lingual spell checking, too.
If you use something like Norton's, you can leave the virus scanning to that and be free to choose whatever e-mail client you want.

I dislike Eudora intensely. I've used Pegasus, Eudora, web based e-mail clients, and a whole lot of other stuff I downloaded just to try.
