Reply: (edit)You may end up with a varied array of responses for this question, I have found that the Norton Internet Security 2007 is an excellent all around package. Here is a link to download a 15 day trial: http://shop.symantecstore.com/servl... It gives you anti-virus, personal firewall, spyware protection and more, all in a new system efficient streamlined package. You can also download and install the parental controls add on package for no additional charge from this link: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR... Reply: (edit)Search out responses already posted here in the forum Unsurprisingly, this gets asked every few days - no one bit of software is foolproof, several are quite good, but 'best' is pretty subjective, and all you'll get will be opinions (often unqualified) - you'll need to form your own I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.

Reply: (edit)There have been at least two similar posts quite recently if you look down the page, and there is a "Go Search" button at the top right of this page. If you want a freebie both AVG & Avast are quite popular around these parts (subject to the reviews given in #3). DerekW

Reply: (edit)Regarding free AV, AVG gets thrown around quite often. As for a paid alternative, you'll get responses that bothers on personal preferences - not that this is bad or unreliable, but tastes are not universally the same. However certain commercial products ones like KAV & NOD32 have always been top ranked. And to my surprise Symantec with their Norton 360 solution seem to be making a comeback.
