I just don't know what to do!

Specs: Windows XP
My computer has a virus, and I haven't a clue what one it is. Whatever it is, its done the following:

Changed my background to a warning saying there is spyware on my computer. Changed my homepage. Takes me to different websites when I type in different URLs. I cannot update MalwareBytes or SuperAntiSpyware's definitions. Disk Defragmentor won't work. ALL my restore points are gone. And now, if I plug in the ethernet cord, the computer suddenly restarts.

Does anyone know what's going on..? I don't know if its just a virus anymore. I kept seeing people claim if I used MalwareBytes in SafeMode it would get rid of it. But its not finding anything! Neither is SAS. I worry a driver or important computer file was deleted when I ran both CCleaner and ATF-Cleaner over and over...

Well the very first thing I do when I think I have a virus that my antivirus isn't detecting is I run a program called "Process Explorer"

It's a free program offered by microsoft that basically explains all the processes that are occurring at the moment. I usually open it and go through the list and nuke things that shouldn't be there. I'll then stress test a little and see if everything is normal. If it is I know i've found it. I'll reboot and find the process. Under properties find the source of the process go and delete it. USUALLY I will type them into google to see if they are known prior to deleting to ensure i'm not deleting something important.

Let me know if it helps, if not I'll suggest some other fixes.

EDIT: To above, he might as well use the full version of AVG with a crack serial. Works much better.
