I have several files that I can not delete

Specs: Windows Vista
I have two folders that have shown up on my D drive suddenly. Usually my downloaded files go to my C drive. These two files are a series of number and letters and when I go in there quite a few other folders with 4 digit names. When I try and delete the folders it says I need admin rights to do so (Vista), but I canĀ“t seem to get them. I am fairly certain they are not program files as they are in my secondary drive and there are no program files there. My computer has been acting a bit odd so I would like to remove the files if possible and not dangerous to my system.
