I downloaded some stuff from a program called edonkey, it is a program that ressembles kazaa. After opening it, my computer was busy and I could not use it so I restarted it, and now before the windows xp screen comes the omp restarts by itself. My friend did same thing except that he has win me and he did not restart, each time he opens an exe file it infects it and he has to put it in quarantine (we both have norton antivirus 2002), he found that the virus's name is bloodhound.vbs.worm, symantec.com is no help, I really need some help plz plz plz

One more thing, now I cant start windows, so I put win 98 cd so that I can go in msdos, I have 2 hard disks, one has 1 partition (c: for windows), the other hdd has 2 partitions, the partitin c does not exist... I am confused plz help me...
Thanks a lot all of you

The only information that I could find was at the Tren Micro website. You could try their scan at that website. It is destructive, as you know by now, and there were no removal tools or instructions. If you can disable system restore, so it does not get into those files. Hopefully I can find some more information for you!

The Macafee, srnmicro, Panda websites all just had small statements of how bad this worm is, and no removal tools/instructions. Just stated that any file infected could not be recovered. The srnmicro site stated that SOLO might be able to detect and isolate it, but with what you have stated I am not sure you could do a download from the website. If you can it would be worth a shot. Are you sure edonkey was a valid program and not a come on from a virus maker? I sincerely wish you well!

Try this Norton link, it has a "tool to repair VBS.Stages.A damage"
VBS.Stages.A
Also Known As: IRC/Stages.worm, Life_Stages Worm, VBS_Stages.A, Bloodhound.VBS.Worm
Type: Worm
Good luck
