hey folks!

I got the worst virus on my computer i ever had. I was searching through google and I opened a page and from this i opened another one and so on...till i got a message on my computer:"your computer has been infacted with spyware!" Also, a little red circle with a white cross came up in the taskmenu!
Now i can start the computer and windows xp is running, but on my desktop are several spyware programs like "Casino, Viagra, Car Insurance...." and so on. And the bad thing is that all the shortcuts are disabled except "ctrl+Alt+del", but then only a window with the message "the administrator deactivated the task manager" apears! Further on, the taskmenu doesn't appear as well, and i can't even work with the dos prompt. So i can't do anything from the desktop...The only thing that i can do is to move the mouse on the desktop but it is not possible to mark or to open a file or programm on the desktop!!
and when the screensaver starts and i push the mouse, the picture from the saver stops and the taskmenu tries to come up but it doesn't, just the frame appears. It seems that the laptop is getting pretty slowly!
Does anybody have an idea what's wrong with my laptop...i'm in big troubles without it!!

At least i have to get to my datas on the memory (pictures,studies...) how does it work to read datas from a memory?

Thank you very much for your help

If you have installed messenger plus (not messenger) you can expect this. From what I've heard you have to uninstall it completely and the reinstall without any extras. You must go through each step slowly and read EVERYTHING in the EULA.

It looks like you have an adware similar to Topantispyware, FakeMessage or a trojan that displays advertisements (it can be Vundo).

You can follow above links and try manual removal instructions. However, the best solution to get rid of the pest would be to using an anti-spyware program. I suggest Microsoft AntiSpyware or other reliable app.

What should you do:
1. Follow this link to download and install Microsoft AntiSpyware.
2. Restart your computer in Safe Mode.
3. Scan your system using MS AntiSpyware Beta.
4. Remove all the adware, spyware and trojans found.

I think this should help.

Remember a virus is not anymore efficient when you know about it...
Apparently you don't have virus, but better some cookies spywares... some of them are very disturbing, especially from X sites.

It sounds like PSGuard to me. You can uninstall this program. Also, right click the desktop and then select properties. From there you should be able locate the filename and path of the html document loaded on your desktop. Then just go and delete it.
