My computer installed with win2000 and it got hacked by some stupid people. They hide about 15 gigs of french stuff in my windows folder. I didn't find out since I was curious about where did it take much of space. What can I do with those files and what should I do to the hacker?

Hi U said hack, it should be attacked through internet. But 15 G is a large amount of stuff that took time for inputing in yr computter that should made u noticed. Or the worst thing is that they would altered your disk files structure... So i recommend u scan for virus first, then use Windows chkdsk to check for any disk structure problem. For sure, if those stuffs are not yours, just delete them. And at last scan for trojans. And install a firewall for future protection. cheers

hi tony, make note of the file(s) and then find out where their isp is and send them an email with the found file(s) to find out their isp use tracert.exe. its in your windows directory. a good little program to have is jammer 1.95 by agnitum, the company that puts out outpost firewall and tauscan anti-trojan. its an older version so you may have to find it somewhere else or just email them and ask them where you can get it. its a great program because it acts like a defense system and actually blocks intrusions and you can even can email the offending isp with a message, saying so and so has attempted to intrude on you. as for those files delete them after you've taken care of business. all the best, murve

what kind of files are they? their prolly just trying to use ur diskspace since u have roomm, basically like an external harddrive. post us some of the file names. :)

Thanks all. I already formatted my drive and there's no way I can delete all of them. And I don't believe I could get away and that because after I rebooted and delete in dos prompt, all of site files in C:/ were again appearing again, it's just a command file with red title "f--- USA government"...So, I trust my suitemate that I should install firewalls and turned off computer when it's not in used. The hiden files are all songs, movies, English language and lots of them, but they aren't good at all. The name of a folder of all folders contained is called "Share", hided in my driver folder in windows/system. They were all hided in long and sluggish long, not even english slashes and %, &~...all these, it has some french contents; I assume those hackers are french. I learned that we should turn off computers at night as we do not use them. I don't know how did it hack but just be aware.
