Comment: I have been asked to post my hijackthis log here to find out what i need to do next. I have had various spyware on my computer which i have deleted using ad ware6 and spybot but now my computer is running slow and the programs i chose to run seem to appear in bits. (Example when i right click, the box appears transparent and only becomes visible when i move the mouse over the selected boxes) this problem seems to be occuring on all my programs but some work better than others. I have tried deleting my temperory files to free up space but it is still working any way here is my Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7 Scan saved at 04:40:01, on 06/01/2004 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG6\avgserv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cisvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\crypserv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\gearsec.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\snmp.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZONELABS\vsmon.exe C:\Program Files\RulingTec\MouseDeviceDrivers20\OSD_Menu.exe C:\Program Files\Alcatel\SpeedTouch USB\Dragdiag.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ZONELA~1\ZONEAL~1\zlclient.exe C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spider.exe C:\Program Files\Kazaa Lite\kazaalite.kpp C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG6\AVGCC32.EXE C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 4.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe C:\Program Files\MSN\MSNCoreFiles\MSN6.EXE C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\PROGRA~1\WINZIP\winzip32.exe C:\Documents and Settings\daniel\Local Settings\Temp\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.yahoo.com/search/ie.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.yahoo.com R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by BT Together with 24/7 Internet R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=%s R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,Shellnext = http://www.btopenworld.com/togetherinternet F0 - system.ini: Shell= F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell= O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - C:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msdxm.ocx O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE NvQTwk,NvCplDaemon initialize O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /install O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TrustInstaller] E:\Setup.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RTMouseDriver] C:\Program Files\RulingTec\MouseDeviceDrivers20\OSD_Menu.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Hot Key Kbd 2690 Daemon] SK2690DM.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AVG_CC] C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG6\avgcc32.exe /STARTUP O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpeedTouch USB Diagnostics] "C:\Program Files\Alcatel\SpeedTouch USB\Dragdiag.exe" /icon O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Zone Labs Client] C:\PROGRA~1\ZONELA~1\ZONEAL~1\zlclient.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroFilterCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Mail Scanner] C:\Program Files\Astonsoft\Spam OFF\SpamOff.exe O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE O4 - Global Startup: WinZip Quick Pick.lnk = C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXE O8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000 O9 - Extra button: Yahoo! Reply: (edit)dan-the-man, First thing to do is extract Hjt out of the Temp folder, and into a permanent folder. Any backups required will then be able to be stored away safely, and restored easily. Could you give details: Do you use and want Wild Tangent? and which spider.exe are you running... Late at night here, Ice

Reply: (edit)See if Wild Tangent is in Add/Remove programs and uninstall it. Remove it with Spybot if not; and do this below. · If you have anything disabled by MSConfig or any other startup manager, please re-enable it before scanning to post. · If you have run and fixed anything with Spybot Search and Destroy or AdAware, please reboot before scanning with HjT. · Rescan with HjT; Close all browser windows and have Hjt fix checked these items: F0 - system.ini: Shell= F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell= O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TrustInstaller] E:\Setup.exe O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Windows Messenger (HKLM) O16 - DPF: {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608500} (Microsoft VM) - http://www.wildtangent.com/install/jvm/msjavx86_3805.exe These are resource hogs at startup; not needed and can go as well: O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE O4 - Global Startup: WinZip Quick Pick.lnk = C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXE Reboot Rescan with HjT and repost a new log. hth iceblue
