Specs: Windows XP
I have not been able to use Internet Explorer on my laptop for over a week now. When I click on the desktop icon, the hourglass comes up as if its gonna do somethin and nothing happens. all other saved webpages do the same thing. i got a load of virus' and trojans and stuff, got kaspersky and it has done all it can. i think there is virus attached to explorer. got a message saying that the Data Execution Prevention had closed it, and I took it off the list of programs to be prevented from working by DEP but it still is not working! it connects to the internet but i cant use the internet. its wrecking my head, ive done everything i possibly can, cant get help directly online cos it wont let me open any windows where i could get online live help or anything. i have windows xp, internet explorer 7. kaspersky has found a load of virus' and vulnerabilities, whatever they are, but it hasnt removed most of them, which say they are extremly dangerous for my computer. i just want my internet to be usuable! please help and sorry if my question is a bit all over the place. what can i do?????

On another computer, go to www.malwarebytes.org and download the free version of their program "Malwarebytes"

(Make sure you click SAVE and not RUN)

When it is done downloading, take the installer file and put it on a flash drive. Now put the flashdrive in your laptop and install malwarebytes from it and run that program and clean out anything that it finds.

Ask, if you have any more questions

My name is JRComp, and I approve this message.

on another note,
1st I would download CCleaner Slim (no toolbar) and also download Avast Free as well as the current updates onto a thumb drive or burn them onto a CD on another PC.

Then install them on your problem PC, Let CCleaner remove all it finds and then install and allow Avast to do a bootscan on reboot and move all it finds to the chest.
Ccleaner will clean out the excess junk and infected cookies as they would fill the Avast Chest too fast if not run first.

You may also want to install an alternate browser on your PC like Firefox or Google Chrome, they are good to use in case IE stops performing.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
