Comment: I saw it, so I think I have it, UnSpyPC. Everytime I start my computer my ZoneAlarm asks if i want to let dm????.exe run (???= various different letters each time I start). I always deny. I ran SpyBot, LavasoftAdaware, NortonAntiVirus, RegCleaner all in safe mode and it will pick up some oddities, but I can't seem to get rid of it. Here is HyJack Log. Please help.

Reply: (edit)Please post a Hijack This log so that the files associated with the virus/spyware/hijacker can be identified. You can download Hijack This at this link http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ then place it into a folder of it's on, such as C:\HJT, so that back up copies can be made and not clutter your desktop or other folders and the backup copies of deleted items can be easily located if needed. Once saved double click HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents into the text editor at this forum. Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.

Reply: (edit)thanks jabuck and bob for your help. I did what bob suggested with symantec. I found some things and deleted them. I still had dmrak.exe in Zone alarm and it would not delete. I went to system file and found this: in the system32 directory there are all these bizarre files. dmrak.exe dmremote.exe dmdcz well they are all exe files dmijg dmkgg dmlqd dmlrn dmmwx dmocx dmolp dmqbj dmynf dmcdh dmbfn dmadmin I went into safe mode and ran norton, adaware, spybot. Found nothing. Looked at the system file and the dmrak.exe was still there. I deleted it because the other dm files that were in zone alarm were being controlled by dmrak. Every file I deleted from zone alarm permissions was asked through dmrak.exe if a different dm???.exe file could run. Now there is no dmrak.exe file. I ran a HJT in safe mode for fun, rebooted and ran HJT again. Reply: (edit)Thanks for letting me know about the link. Please download KillBox by Option^Explicit from this link http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.exe Save it to your Desktop, don't just run it from the download site. Open KillBox. Then on killbox top bar press tools and then "Delete Temp Files" then "OK". In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option. Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMBFN.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMCDH.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMDCZ.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMIJG.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMKGG.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMLQD.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMLRN.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMMWX.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMOLP.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMQBJ.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMYNF.EXE

Reply: (edit)You should purge system restore and create a new restore point. For instructions on how to purge system restore click Here. To create a new restore point go Start>Run>type "msconfig" without the quotes>ok>Launch System Restore>Tick the circle beside "create a restore point">next>name it anything you wish>Create>home>restart the computer. You should do a google search for "spywareblaster",download it,install it and update it. A real good tool.
