Reply: (edit)Go to the this link:Disable Realtime Protection Follow their directions to disable any realtime protection that you have as it will interfere with the fix by reinstalling the corrupt files. Please download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2: Download the "HijackThis" Installer from this link: Hijack This 1. Save " HJTInstall.exe" to your desktop. 2. Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program. 3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis. 4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button. 5.Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log. 6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad. 7. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log. 8. Paste the log in your next reply. 9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Please download ComboFix to the desktop from one of the following links: Link1 Link 2 Link 3 Double-click combofix.exe Follow the prompts. (Don't click on the window while the program is running, it may cause your system to hang.) Please post the log it produces.

Reply: (edit)Open Notepad and copy/paste everything between the X"s into it and make sure "Folder::" is at the very top of the page. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Folder:: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Sys XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Go to File on the top bar and choose" Save As", Change the "Save As Type" to All Files, Name it CFScript.txt then save it to your desktop. Then drag/drop the CFScript.txt onto ComboFix.exe (the red X on your desktop) if combofix does not auto start click "run".Download the following tool "Flash_Disinfector" and run it on your D:,E: and F: drives. http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/Flash_Disinfector.exe

Reply: (edit)whats next? i have run the combofix as well as flash disinfector in D,E, and F. I accidently run flash disinfector on desktop as well which means in C drive, is it alright? my download accelerator has also been uninstalled and deleted by combofix, can i install it again? i have download accelerator(DAP) setup in drive D. i also have unintalled McAfee and have installed AVG antivirus. the internet explorer problem which i have previously is also gone, but my pc restarts itself, i don't have any idea why, but restarts as i am surfing internet, playing music or doing any other thing it just restarts, is it any virus in the system which makes the computer restarts itself ?

Reply: (edit)On restarts it is usually a hardware problem or configuration problem. Try this microsoft suggestion:To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Start Windows XP in Safe mode, and then configure Windows to not automatically restart when a STOP error occurs. To do this, follow these steps: a. Restart the computer. When the POST process completes, press F8. b. On the Windows Advanced Options menu that appears, use the ARROW keys to select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER. c. Select the operating system to start, and then press ENTER. d. Log on to the computer as Administrator, and then click Yes in the Windows is running in safe mode dialog box that appears. NOTE: When the computer is running in Safe mode, your display settings may be set to a lower resolution than you expect. e. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. f. Click Switch to Classic View if Control Panel is not already in Classic View. g. Double-click System, click the Advanced tab, and then under Startup and Recovery, click Settings. h. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box. i. Click OK twice. j. Close Control Panel, and then restart Windows normally.
Dap is no good, contains spyware. You do not need an accelerator, I don't even think they work but that's up to you. Please post a new Hijack This log and a new Combofix log please.

Reply: (edit)i did place a check to the following items you told but what i have to do with the backup folder which it shows now on the desktop.do i have to delete it? yes, it is not restarting again at all and everything is working perfect now. but my AVg antivirus always shows something new like : file - result/infection - path kernel32.dll - change - c:\windows\system32\kernel32.dllhosts - change - c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts A0017433.inf - virus identified Worm\Autorun.AA - d:\system volume information\_restore{2F2BD9A0-18C3-4BDD-A2F0-7E6A504126E9}\RP32\A0017433.inf A0017433.inf - virus identified Worm\Autorun.AA - e:\system volume information\_restore{2F2BD9A0-18C3-4BDD-A2F0-7E6A504126E9}\RP32\A0017434.inf A0017433.inf - virus identified Worm\Autorun.AA - f:\system volume information\_restore{2F2BD9A0-18C3-4BDD-A2F0-7E6A504126E9}\RP32\A0017435.inf but in the results it shows that everything that is infected in the scan as above has been deleted.so do i have to do any thing else to remove the above virus(worm\autorun.aa) permanently or it will alright that AVG is going to take care of it.

Reply: (edit)everything is working very well indeed, and i have no more messages from AVG antivirus of any object or file containing virus but every time AVG scan shows that "hosts" are changed , one is kernel.dll and other is host/system 32 and i have figured out the restarting problem as well my microprocessor fan is having some hardware problem , whenever the computer loses power itself i just touch the fan once and it restarts again , so i think i have to change it,what do you think about this? other than this Everything seems perfect.
