Comment: this problem it seems is really ticking alot of people off. the name is search assistant-my search or websavings from ebates and a few others, these programs or should i say spyware will stay in your add/remove programs and in the registry and cannot be removed, and can cause instability in your system...to remove these problems before starting this procedure, be very carful that you don't delete the wrong registry files or you will have serious problems... to start...click start, click run, type in regedit. then click the plus sign beside hkey;local machine then click software then scroll down and click microsoft then click windows click the plus sign on current version scroll down and click the plus sign on uninstall, in here find the program you need to delete right click and delete, that's it, be carful make sure it's the right file you need to get rid of best wishes coly zenno

Reply: (edit)the previous (Subject: how to remove; my search spyware Name:Coly)is a BOGUS message - it does NOT delete any software, spy or otherwise. It is a set of instructions to delete the UNINSTALL information for a program. Following these instructions will make software IMPOSSIBLE to UNINSTALL without much manual registry editing, etc. READ THEM CLOSELY run regedit.. goto windows list of uninstall data (SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\UNINSTALL) delete the entry. congratulations - you have just deleted Windows' "add/remove programs" entry for this software. you have not deleted your spyware, you have just deleted windows' information on how to remove it.
