how to remove boot sector virus

My hard disk contains bootsector virus and it is not comingup. I think that I may require some software to remove boot sector virus

1.)How do you know you have it? 2.)What type is it? 3.)Are you sure? Because if it is it's very unlikely because if they mess around with your MBR or boot sector its VERY dangerous...

use a known virus free win98 startup disk, write protect it, the at the a: prompt type fdisk /mbr ,and press enter. and then use f-prot dos based antivirus scanner

or what you could do is do a low level format with power diag from maxtor.com it works on any type of drive to do a llf.

I was reinstalling windows 200 profesional because it was giving me errors about the root file was missing.So i reinstalled it and got all happy started installing all the good games and programs. i restart the computer and it tells me that NTLDR is missing or something like that.
