Hey,
My computer is infected with some virus, the hard drive has been wiped twice, but the virus returns each time. Im not really a computer expert, but i was wondering if the virus is in my RAM or my BIOS or something weird like that. I have Avast and Ad-Aware installed on my computer and i ran scans with both and found nothing. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Well, that narrows it right down.
What virus do you think you have?
How was it wiped?
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

A ram resident virus is easily taken care of. Just turn off the power - it's gone!
The only place where a virus can reside and survive a reformat is in the boot sector. All antivirus scans will notice this right away and this techique has not be used for at least 10 years.
What makes you think that you have a virus?

Inexplicable problems are not always due to virus (in fact, very seldom)
Try a scan at Panda - if it comes up clean as well, you may be forced to abandon this virus 'theory'
Computers in the future may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes and perhaps only weigh 1 1/2 tons.
