Download Hijack This 1.99.1 here

,install it and "Do A System Scan Only". Click on "SCAN" at the bottom. Once it's finished click on "Save Log" and save it as a .txt file. DO NOT fix anything! This is a pretty powerful tool. Be sure that the program is in its own folder on the root drive (eg. C:/HJT rather than C:/temp..). If it's saved in a temp folder it won't be able to make back-ups if needed. Also be sure that while it's running that no other windows are open. Then copy and paste the log back here and I'll take a look at it for you.

I can give you tools to remove the trojan alone but it comes bundled with some other garbage you'll want to remove as well.

You've got a lot going on in that log. Iworm_attck isn't your only problem. Give me some time to do a little research and we'll get this fixed up in no time. There is a couple more things to get rid of but I want to get Smitfraud out of the way.

For now:

Please read these instructions carefully. You can either save them in Notepad, Word or print them out! Be sure to follow ALL instructions!

Please RIGHT-CLICK: HERE and go to "Save As" (in Internet Explorer it's "Save Target As") in order to download Grinler's reg file. Save it to your desktop.

Locate "smitfraud.reg" on your desktop and double-click it. When asked if you want to merge with the registry, click YES. Wait for the "merged successfully" prompt then follow the rest of the instructions below.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs, if found:

Security IGuard
Virtual Maid
Search Maid
PSGuard
AdwareDelete

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

*IMPORTANT* CLICK THIS LINK TO LEARN HOW TO VIEW HIDDEN FILES

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

* Save it to your desktop.

* Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

C:\wp.exe
C:\wp.bmp
C:\bsw.exe
C:\bsw.bmp
C:\Windows\sites.ini
C:\Windows\wp.bmp
C:\Windows\uninstIU.exe
C:\Windows\popuper.exe
C:\WINDOWS\zloader3.exe
C:\Windows\System32\hhk.dll
C:\Windows\System32\wldr.dll
C:\Windows\System32\wp.bmp
C:\Windows\System32\perfcii.ini
C:\Windows\System32\helper.exe
C:\Windows\System32\shnlog.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmon.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intel32.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmonp.exe
C:\Windows\System32\msmsgs.exe
C:\Windows\System32\msole32.exe
C:\Windows\System32\ole32vbs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\oleadm32.dll

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Make sure you can view hidden files.

Using Windows Explorer, delete the following, if found, (please do NOT try to find them by "search" because they will not show up that way)

FOLDERS to delete (in bold) if found:

C:\Program Files\Search Maid
C:\Program Files\Virtual Maid
C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles
C:\Program Files\Security IGuard
C:\Program Files\PSGuard
C:\Program Files\AdwareDelete

While still in Safe Mode, do the following:

Make sure all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis and place a check next to the following items, if found, then click FIX CHECKED:

******Place hijackthis items to be fixed here********

Close HiJackThis.

Reboot into normal mode.

1.) Download The Hoster Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

2.) Right-Click HERE and Save As to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf on your desktop and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

NOTE: CLEANUP DELETES EVERYTHING FROM TEMPORARY FOLDERS AND DOES NOT MAKE BACK UPS. IF THERE'S ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THAT IS IN A TEMPORARY FOLDER, MOVE IT NOW.

3.) Download and install CleanUp!
Set the program up as follows:
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (make sure nothing else is checked!):

Empty Recycle Bins

Delete Cookies

Delete Prefetch files

Cleanup! All Users

Uncheck the other options.

Click OK

Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

4.) Run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan! (When the scan is finished, go to see log and then save log, you don't have to pay)

Post a new HiJackThis log along with the results from ActiveScan into this thread.

Norton being open is fine, I just meant that other windows and such weren't open. If at any time you don't understand those instructions, feel free to ask me to clarify anything.

Maybe try that, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Just highlight and right-click the list, then hit the copy from clipboard button.

To delete on reboot using killbox do it this way: Note that on two occasions you are required to "Press the All Files Button".

Start Killbox place a tick next to [x]Delete on reboot "Press the All Files button"
Copy this whole list into the windows clipboard, all the bolded file paths below. Copy the following list of files to clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy)
Next in Killbox go to File > Paste from clipboard
"Click on the All Files button."
Next click on the button that has the red circle with the white X in the middle.
It will ask for confimation to delete the files on next reboot and ask you if you want to reboot now.
Click Yes and let the computer reboot.

If the computer does not reboot automatically just manually reboot.
