My computer originally ran on Windows 98. I had some problems (thought I had a virus but now I think it was just software that had been installed and forgotten), so I took it to a fliy-by-night computer repairman. He was supposed to recreate the computer without the problems. Now I have a computer that runs on Windows ME (and I don't have the software for it), still has the problems, says it has a lot of software installed that is no longer there, and I want to start over. Can I erase the hard drive and start from scratch? I still have my Windows 98 SE software

my computer is not set to boot from the CD and I cannot figure out how to get to my BIOS. I do not have the manual for my motherboard and I tried all the keys they gave on the link. Any further suggestions? I can boot from a: drive, but I don't know if my boot disk has a CD ROM driver on it.

lol you have a real pickle dont you. i had the same problem with an old an forgotton 1980 windows OS forgotton name.
