how do I remove power-on password from laptop

hi, I've recently got a HP Compaq 6820s Notebook and I activated power-on password, not because I have any important documents or something else to keep safe from others, I just wanted to see whats gonna be happen if I do that. password is my middle name and I don't have a problem to remember it but it's very annoying every time when I turn on my laptop I have to type a password. now I don't know how to remove it. so if there is any possibility to remove that password please help

just open control panel and click on users. Open the username with the password and delete the password and save it.
It should then be gone

The above is for Windows password. To remove BIOS-based power-on password, follow the steps below

1. Restarting the computer, and then pressing f10 while the
“F10 = ROM Based Setup” message is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen.

2. Use the arrow keys to select Security > Power-On password, and then press enter.

3. To delete a power-on password, type the current password in the Old password field, and then press F10.

4. To save your preferences, use the arrow keys to select File > Save changes and exit. Then follow the instructions on the screen.

Your preferences go into effect when the computer restarts.
