Comment: I tried using housecall and it found these 2 viruses-JS NOCLOSE.E and JS NOCLOSE.A and said both are noncleanable. I then tried to delete them but it said it could not because they are running and I am a rookie at this so I am miffed as to what to do next. Would someone knowledgable at this help me get rid of these viruses please. Thanks, Gary.

Reply: (edit)Start your computer and enter the "safe mode", usually by tapping the F8 key during the startup process. Then delete the identified files with your antivirus program. If you do not have one get Grisoft's AVG, AVAST or the free one year offer from Computer Associates for EZ Armor that includes Etrust for the antivirus program and Zone Alarm pro(version 3.7) as the firewall. It is available from http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/index.asp

Reply: (edit)One man's trojan is another another man's virus... Not malicious but JS.NoClose a JavaScript Trojan "will minimise Internet Explorer and attempt to access other websites without the user's express permission." “Closing these windows can be difficult, because when you close one, the window that is "hidden" behind it is displayed." In short, JS.NoClose engineers the lowest form of pop-up advertising, forcing page views on unsuspecting users and making it extremely difficult to maneuver away from the site(s. # In HTA form, an HTML Application is created which is not visible to the user and can not be closed. # In HTML form, a browser window is created which is minimized and can not be easily maximized or closed. Try a reboot and insure IE has not opened and is not running. Try running housecall and see if it will remove it. I know mcAfee will kill it. If not Run hijackthis and see if any hta html's are running. Otherwise you'll probably have to manually remove it from registry and documents and settings.
