I'm new and would like to know how to download the new version of hijackthis. I have the last version 1.97.0.3. I used a free unzip program for this one( unzipping was a new experience for mw to). Where do I save it to? Do I need to put it into the same folder as my current version, Do I replace the older version with the new version 1.95? Sorry I,m trying to Teach myself. I guess you would call it home schooling, lol

First, delete the old version of HijackThis. You can simply delete the folder; it's an application, not an installed program.

Second, for simplicity, you can unzip the new version to your desktop. Then, if your like using Windows Explorer, move the new folder to, say, Program Files. You can 'drag and drop' the folder into PF easily.

Tammy, Win ME can unzip compressed files (if it's enabled) without the need for another program.
It's my bedtime and I don't have time to type it up fully, but to enable this in Win ME go to CONTROL PANEL - ADD/REMOVE - WINDOWS SET UP - scroll down to - SYSTEM TOOLS - DETAILS and put a check in the box next to COMPRESSED FOLDER - OK.
You should be able to open these files now.
You can also create compressed folders with the right click menu and password protect them, but you have to put something in there first.

Night, night.
