Nasty rootkit, bundled with bandoo. 1. Remove bandoo. 2.Use system restore to restore to a point before you installed bandoo. 3. Reboot. 4. Open a new browser session. 5. Check that the tool bar is now absent. 6. If it has gone, download and update Malwarebytes anti-malware. If you can, run malewarebytes in safe mode. Select all drives and full scan options. 7. Be patient. 8.Select fix all issues once scan has finished. 8. Roboot. 9. If you then get prompted to update java through the java console do not do it, instead uninstall all java via add/remove programs. 10. Download latest java runtime from sun microsytems website and install. 11. Eboot and run windows update. 12. Perform full system scan in safe mode with your anti-virus program.
12. If none of this works. Download and run HIJack this and GMER rootkit scanner. Use these utilities to find and fix any further instances named "searchqu".

13. In future, avoid any thirdparty freeware or shareware programs like bandoo as they bundle nasties in with their packages.

There's no need to download any other software to remove this s---.

Go to Program Files - Windows Searchqu Toolbar. Then click on uninstall app. It must be good. This s--- doesn't appear in the ADD/REMOVE PROG.

You must go to Program Files to remove it. It works for me.

When I opened up FIREFOX from my desktop last night, I got the searchqu homepage instead of my normal homepage as well, so I ended up trying several things, but it had no results. I finally ended up using the search feature from the start up button revealing the different programs on the PC itself. It found what I searched for, so I ended up removing all the malware manually, and managed to get my hompage back to to stay. I also recommend to run a full systems scan of your PC to make sure everything that caused it as well. I will be doing this to my pc this afternoon when I get back home! Good Luck!

Ofcourse this is a nasty malware... I've googled for the solution but none of them worked.. Then i did a search on my own and found some changes to some add on s on firefox. You can manually remove the symptoms of this malware by the following way (I dont know whether it actually remove the malware, but ofcourse you will not be disturbed by this thing :-)...)

1.Go to task manager. Find the running program named DataManager or DataMngr and end that process.
2.Open Firefox goto Tools>Options>General>Manage Add-Ons Then disable the add-on named DataMngr(You'll need to restart browser)
3.type 'msconfig' in Run press enter
4.Under startup tab disable Data Manager from Discordia, LTD
5.Start the browser again and check whether its gone.
6.Inform me if this helped you at
7.And you are done!!! :-D
