Solved How do I get rid of Norton virus??

December 25, 2015 at 22:42:56
Specs: Windows 8.1
I just got a new laptop and was on the internet, when I got a "Norton anti-virus" pop up that had a phone number and FBI whatever. And if I try to close it anoter pops up and prevents me from doing anything on the computer. I know it's an virus and I want to clean it out as soon as possible. Like I said the computer is new, so would it be possible to just whipe the computer blank or back to factory settings and have it be gone? It's a dell computer

"I know it's an virus and I want to clean it out as soon as possible"
A user has installed it, so it is important to realize that, so the same mistake is not made again.

Try a System Restore.

✔ Best Answer
It's NOT a Norton anti-virus pop-up, it's Ransomware. You went someplace you shouldn't have & picked it up.

If you want to do a factory restore let us know the model number because not all Dell computers are the same.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
