There's an AVG removal tool available here

John
The removal tool is for AVG 11, not avg 9. Consequently it cannot find the avg 9 files to delete. Thanks for the response

Thats the removal tool dated 2011, it does your version. The "11" is reference to the removal tool not your actual version on your pc. It should remove all files etc.

Ran removal tool this time, and it worked fine. I have removed a virus from my PC which I believe was preventing the removal tool from working. Thanks for your support, much appreciated

The best tool to completely remove a program is revo uninstaller, much better than any other uninstallers...removes ALL instances in the registry safely.

No worries thanks for letting us know. The trouble with Revo Uninstaller is that AVG hides it uninstaller/program from it, so you can't find it in Add/Remove programs. Once the AVG program has been corrupted the only way to remove it,is the removal tool or manually.
And I love Revo Uninstaller it will never be removed from my pc, as it does a great job.Everyone should have it on their pc's for removing programs.

Do you know what AVG really is ? It's a Rouge Virus it eliminates viruses acting as a anti virus but causes problems with your computer it dosent get infected it gets either replaced by a virus or it is a "ROUGE" Virus. I would try to find a better anti virus.
