Solved How do I completely get rid of Advanced System Care?

April 15, 2016 at 00:20:16
Specs: Windows XP
I appear to have dislodged ASC 9 but ASC 8 remains doggedly. Since removing ASC 9 my start up problems are resolved but other varying problems have suspiciously appeared.
I have replaced ASC with System Mechanic but am now dubious about any of these things.

Warning to others, ASC appears to be a most pernicious app that they ensure you can't rid of easily.
Avoid ASC like the plague is my advice.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Over the years we have had many problems which came along after folk used System Mechanic. Avoid all those things, they are unnecessary and cause more problems than they fix.

CCleaner is one of the safest but by no means essential. Anything to do with registry cleaning should either be avoided or used with extreme care by folk with some knowledge in that area.

As for ASC try this on it (free version at bottom of page):

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Derek
Thank you very much for the assistance.
Most helpful.
ASC managed to cling on but RevoUninstall of great assistance in deleting system mechanic and clear other clutter.
I have now actually progressed to Windows 7 on another desktop but no doubt will need some help at some point in the future.
Thanks again.
Gary.
