How did I get this virus?

My sister's computer recently got a virus. She sent it off the geeksquad and asked me if in the meantime could I please go online to her bill-pay accounts so that way nothing would be late. Friday evening I went online to her billpay accounts and set up all of her online banking for her. By the next morning my computer had the same virus that her computer did.
How did this happen? Was it somehow stuck inside her bill-pay accounts? If it is - how does she need to go about getting to use her bill-pay in the future? I didn't do anything else for her (ie. check her email).

First of all,NEVER GO TO GEEKSQUAD,,Unless you are Bill Gates..why didn't you just run Anti virus. or run a free online scan. Kaspersky has one of the best online scanners. Next,that bank could have a virus on it's server. I would scan your computer too see if the problem is there or the banks..
