Desperately need some help!
For the last few days whenever i turn on my home laptop {with windows ME} , a number of windows that never used to open start opening as well as a strange error message. the error message is : error finding psapi.dll and the windows that pop up are live_chat. hta . If i have my netcard in my laptop (we have a wireless system) then the internet is automatically launched (usually you have to at least click on the browser icon). after only minutes, my computer is frozen b/c the minute the computer is connected to the internet, millions of pop ups for live chats, electronics, porn etc, come faster than i can close them which soon leads to my computer freezing.
i've run mccaffee several times and it comes up with nothing. i've also deleted all temp internet files.
i am writing this message on a friend's computer b/c it is impossible for me to even access the internet. after looking on some sites on my friend's computer, i came upon several computing net messages concerning trojan horse - i did a search for loader.exe and iedll.exe and found that i had both on my computer - both files were created in the last four days at the same exact time.
i obviously need to delete these files, but how do I do it properly ? and how do i do it without being able to access the free anti -trojan tools on various internet sites?
Through our isp - starpower - we are supposed to have a firewall - but obviously it has not protected me from getting this trojan horse.
if anyone could suggest ways to get rid of the current problem and future proof myself, i would appreciate it immensely!
thanks
noz

loader.exe and iedll.exe are the CoolWebSearch hijacker.
