I don't kinw too much about computers and am not sure if I am posting this to the right place. I seem to have a virus called mmtask which opens up when I start the computer. I have done a hijackthis scan and obtained the log below. I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions.
Thank you.

Hello, A little above my knowledge, but I think that is a Microsoft Multi-task type thing.....I would leave it alone for now; until someone with more experience gives a positive recommendation. But I think it is best left there for now.
Anyone comment, please?

mmtask could be a multi media task - a real windows file in versions before 2000. I do not think it runs all the time though. Do you have any multimedia programs that run at startup? Check your scheduled tasks also.
It also could be a new dialer. See the info and description at Pest Patrol.

mmtask.tsk
Windows Multimedia Background Task Support Module that handles multimedia services. The software provides simulated multitasking for multimedia applications; for example, you could be playing more than one AVI movie at the same time. This task does not exist in Windows NT 4, 2000, or XP operating systems, which are true multitasking operating systems

Part of MusicMatch Jukebox that is digital music player, CD burner and ripper, music organizer, and play list creator.

Note that mmtask.tsk shouldn't be showing up, as noted above, in windowsnt4,2000,or xp. But you use windows me, so it's probably a false positive and should be reported to the hijackthis people.
