How can I know if I have been hacked?

Specs: Windows Vista
I started using Facebook over the last year to find an old friend. Over the course of a few months I have added many friends from my past. One of the people I friended wasn't really a friend, but someone who attended the same school as I did for a short time. Anyhow this person is very clingy and exhibts some signs that he may have a mental illness, but I have always responded to his messages with kindness, because I felt sorry for him. Over the past few weeks he appears to know when I turn my laptop on, hop on the internet, what I'm doing on my computer, and other things I'm doing within my home, like when I am wearing shorts a tank and sipping coffee while shopping. Also, my pc has been acting bizzare at times. For example when I am reading dialogue my mouse icon started clicking on things all by itself or text just started being typed into a dialogue box when my fingers weren't on the keyboard. Am I being hacked? Is this stalking? I would really like to know what's happening, because I am feeling a bit nervous.

Your not being hacked. You already have been hacked. But not in the pure sense of the word. Did you ever run anything by this guy? go to any sites he gave you? If yes then i bet you are infected with what is called a RAT.

RAT stands for remote administration tool or trojan.

Best thing to do is download malwarebytes antivirus and run a scan. it will most likely detect it and get rid of it
