How can I format my Linux OS?

Specs: Linux i686
I have a Linux OS. I have a virus. I'm running on a live Fedora 14 disk. I need to format my hard drive and two external hard drives and reload the Linux. I tried GParted and I kept getting an error message. Is there some way I can format the three hard drives from the terminal? I don't want to keep the data, just want to wipe the disks clean. dubman48

Are you running gparted from the os?

Try using the gparted live cd.

Being a newbie on Linux. I thought it was difficult to get a virus on Linux.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.
