Hotmail virus!

December 6, 2010 at 12:07:54
Specs: Windows XP
My Hotmail account has a virus - it sends random emails to my address book on a regular basis. In it, there is a link to a website, and no subject line.

Interestingly, I CLOSED my Hotmail account. Even after it had been closed, my account 'reopened' itself and started sending these emails again!

I don't know what to do, and it keeps sending emails to everyone in my address book.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this??

Your computer might be infected with some type of key logger. First you should scan your computer with a legitimate anti-spyware software. Choose from malwarebytes antimalware and superantispyware. Download links Both mentioned programs are free and does a great job at detecting and removing spyware. Download, install and update before running a full system scan. After your computer is clean from infections you should change your hotmail password.
