Here's my situation. I seriously believe that someone is hacking my hotmail account. About a week ago when I tried to log on, I saw that my password no longer worked (was changed), so for security purposes I reset it to a new one. I kinda saw that as a fluke. But then, just today, when I was trying to access my email account, the hotmail screen told me that my account was temporarily blocked to protect me, because there were too many unsuccessful attempts to log on with the wrong password, so again I changed it (at least this time they didn't actually get in the account, although I don't have proof that it happened last time, because everything looked the same as when I last saw it).

So what I want to know is, what are my options here? Does hotmail keep like a log of unsuccessful email log-on attempts? Well, that's my situation, I'm not even sure what specific questions to ask as for a resolution, because I have no clue what I'm doing here, I just hope one of the experts here can provide some info. Thanks [note: as I'm writing this, my password to hotmail was changed by someone, and I couldn't log on. Had to reset to new one]

Use Spybot Search & Destroy to get rid of any spyware that might be on your computer, udate it before running it. Then get a firewall if you don't already have one.

I personally would dump hotmail like a hot potato.

I know free is good but mosquitos are free and so is a worm in your apple.

Spend the $20 a year and get a multibox POP3 account that will have no such issues.

Agree with jimi and im in the process of dumping hotmail as we speak.

Hacking [guessing your password] your hotmail account...

Create a password that no one could ever possibly guess. Upper, lower case letters and numbers. My current password contains 16 letter/number's.

Then.. create a goofy password hint like "who loves bill clinton" with an answer like "micheal jacksons chimp". Be creative.. remember that the people who usually try and get into your account are people you know.. girlfriend, wife etc. people who know what your "pets name" is.

Do not use the autocomplete feature on your PC. Do not check your email on other/public PC's. Check the box that says your using a public pc even if your not as wawadave suggested.

Do as suzi said and verify your not infected with spyware/trojan virus and pray.

16 letters and numbers, If I do 15 attempts a sec with current technology. Humm should take me about 75 years to get into your account. That just not going to work..lol... Everyone answer sounds good dante. I think my math may be a little off so maybe I should say between 50 and 75.

You could keep changing the password to stay one step ahead, but honestly I'm not convinced that MS cares about security for its free hotmail.
Just buy a POP account.
