Host Files - Guru Needed

What programs can I use to view and fix my host files. Files that are very hard to find, registry, etc.

Start Button > Search > For files or folders > Type in "hosts" (without quotes) > Look in "C" > click on "Search now" When you find it , right-click and select "open with" and select notepad. The last line should read: 127.0.0.1 localhost If there is anything after that it is probably bogus and desrves deletion. The above post is a good read, and by all means be careful.

shep, I have thousands of entries after my localhost definition. they all reference 127.0.0.1 That is a useful technique to block adpages from being displayed.
