Horrible virus on Toshiba Laptop

Specs: Windows Vista
I have a horrible redirect virus on my toshiba laptop. It redirects me no matter what I do. If I copy the link location and paste it it still redirects. I am so annoyed. Well, today I went to log into gmail and it was logged into a strange user that I do not know. This account had only one e-mail sent from it and it was to my Husband. It said something like you forgot to return a blockbuster movie 16 years ago and return it was $200. It was weird that it didn't say anything about how to do it or pay. They didn't ask any information; however the email failed to send. It was so strange. Any ideas?

Also, I have tried to reboot this system from the disk, but everytime I do it says there was an error. I looked it up and it seems no one has found a fix for this.

Looks like a bad day. Have you tried a system restore to before this happended?

I would also suggest that you might consider, downloading malwarebytes onto a flash, then starting your computer in safe mode, then running the malwarebytes progam to see if it finds anything wierd. Its a real easy one to use, and it catches quite a bit. there are other options as well.

Also would recommend, entering your internet options, and selecting lan settings, and then disableing a proxy server if you havent set one up.
